The Verdigris Collection: Copper? No, this is an original acrylic painting on illustration board. In a process of my own invention, I create each piece by painting over and over the lines of my original drawing, building up a 3-dimensional ridge of paint which defines the design. Next, I paint and layer different colors in strategic areas until the result appears to be a piece of elegant, aged copper. A typical painting done in this style may require approximately a dozen layers of paint - extremely labor-intensive, but I believe the final result is worth it. I often paint more than one version of a particular design, but each is a totally original painting, and no two are ever exactly alike. All paintings come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
